From zero clue to full-blown AV lifer. Cooper’s unexpected path into the industry

In this episode, our General Manager Jorge Bermudez sits down with Cooper Madigan to unpack his journey into the AV world. Cooper openly admits he never planned on a career in production. He just kept saying “yes” to opportunities. One casual favour helping with audio and lighting turned into regular gigs, more gear, more responsibility, and eventually a passion he didn’t see coming.

Jorge digs into the early days: the small community events, the volunteering, the long nights learning on the fly, and the moments where Cooper realised he’d found his thing. What started as curiosity slowly became confidence, and before long, he was building the technical chops and industry relationships that shaped his career today.

Cooper’s story is a reminder that you don’t need a perfect roadmap. Sometimes the best way into AV is backing yourself, being willing to learn, and showing up even when you’re unsure.
