Last Saturday, the WIN Entertainment Centre came alive as Sydney Metro AV had the privilege of bringing to life Alex K’s Legacy Tour. This wasn’t just another DJ show. It was a full-scale production that blended iconic dance music with live performances, creating a night that will stay with the audience long after the final beat dropped.

More Than Just the Music

The stage hosted an incredible lineup of talent alongside Alex K. Vocalists Samantha Gianoudis and Natalie Colavito-Mautama brought powerhouse vocals to the tracks, adding a live edge that lifted the energy in the room. Dance troupe La Femme Creatif delivered electrifying performances throughout the night, giving the crowd a visual feast to match the sound.

Special guests also took the stage. Ben Gillies, legendary drummer of Silverchair, brought raw live energy into the mix, while The A-Team and Falah Sharaf added layers of performance that made the night feel like so much more than a DJ set.

Venue Size & Layout: The WIN Entertainment Centre’s arena scale meant that rigging points, exclusion zones, and floor space had to be carefully mapped. Every screen, truss, and lighting fixture had to align perfectly to create the right impact while keeping the space safe.
CAD Drawings & Visualisation: Before a single case was rolled into the venue, the show was already built on paper. Detailed CAD drawings provided a complete blueprint, showing exactly how the rigging, staging, lighting, and LED screens would fit together. These drawings weren’t just technical schematics—they gave everyone involved, from crew to client, a clear visualisation of the event. This upfront planning was crucial to spotting challenges early and ensuring the final production matched the vision.

Crew Coordination: With dozens of crew members on site, timing was everything. Staggered call times and structured load-ins kept the workflow smooth and avoided downtime.
Tight Deadlines: With only one day to set up and a hard strike deadline after the show, every milestone had to be hit with precision. From flying LED screens to programming CO₂ jets and special effects, it was all about efficiency without compromise.
Safety & Flow: Mapping out safe working zones, ensuring pathways for gear movement, and keeping the floor clear for rehearsals was just as important as the gear itself.

A Seamless Experience

The payoff was a production that truly matched the scale and ambition of the performers. From the opening beat to the last encore, the visuals, sound, and live performances came together as one. Not separate elements, but parts of a single story told across the entire arena.

What made this night even more special was the audience itself. As an all-ages event, the Legacy Tour brought together an incredible mix of people. kids hearing these tracks live for the first time, parents reliving their own nights on the dance floor, and even grandparents joining in on the celebration. Seeing three generations under one roof, all moving to the same beat, was proof of how deeply Alex K’s music has connected with people over the years.

The LED screens amplified the energy on stage, every lighting cue landed with precision, and the mix of live vocals, drumming, and dance created a dynamic that kept the crowd locked in all night. To the audience, it felt effortless. But behind the curtain, it was the result of weeks of preparation, detailed planning, and constant coordination on the ground.
